What the numbers tell you.
A smaller denominator means a larger model.
At 1:50, one metre becomes 20 mm. At 1:100 it becomes 10 mm, and at 1:250 it becomes 4 mm.
Allow room around the model.
These figures cover the dimensions you enter. A landscape border, base, display cover, pedestal and transport case need additional space.
